How to Get Traffic to Your Website, Webpage Or Blog?

There are two ways to get traffic to your site and that’s either by paid traffic or organic traffic. Paid traffic includes Pay Per Click (PPC) ads that are displayed on the right side of the search results. Or organic traffic, these are the results that come up on the left that are non-sponsored i.e. not paid for.

One of the biggest differences between the two is that PPC brings immediate traffic and organic traffic based on SEO (search engine optimization) comes overtime and is dependent on various factors.

What is Pay Per Click?

In simple terms PPC advertising is where you set up a website or webpage and pay a search engine such as Google each time a potential customer clicks on your ad.

For example, you are wanting to promote the latest cellulite treatment cream, you set up a website or web page promoting that product. You set up an ad campaign with Google and every time someone types in “cellulite treatment” your ad will pop up and every time someone clicks on it you will pay the search engine.

This charge per click can be less than a dollar but over time it can quickly add up and drain the resources of the advertiser if the number of sales is not sufficient to allow them to recoup their losses. Fortunately, most of these sites allow advertisers to place a limit on the amount of money an advertiser is willing to pay. Once that limit is reached the advertisement will no longer show and no further charges will be made.

Organic traffic and search results depend on a various factors. One way to generate organic traffic is through SEO articles and link building. Many websites will use SEO articles to increase the quality of their web content and attract the attention of search engines to their website or page. These carefully crafted articles are centered on specific keywords that relate to that particular product or service.

Link building allows you to write articles and provide them to various websites or article directories at no charge in exchange for the appearance of your name and website link at the top or bottom of the article. The principle behind this is that viewers will read the article, then be interested enough in what you had to say to follow your link to your website and view any other information you may choose to make available to them.

The more specific SEO reason for submitting articles to directories is to get a link back to your website. The more links you have pointing to your site, the better. And more specifically, the more hyper-linked, keyword relevant, one-way inbound links, the better.
